HMU should not be confused with Hamburger University. The later focuses on training McDonald's franchisees in the skills needed to operate one of their restaurants, from paper costs to crew scheduling or oil filtering, etc...
HMU is different: it provides no training in restaurant operations, but a thorough overview of the corporation's marketing methods. McDonald's has acquired a vast knowledge of the use of research and promotion tools in over 100 countries and has chosen this method to share it with those who work for or with the company.
By the way, Jacques came out of HMU with the Tony Klaus award for top
academic achievement. You may tease him about that too!
